What Is Artificial Intelligence
What is Artificial Intelligence
The term for Artificial Intelligence (A.I) was first coined by John McCarthy in 1956, at a A.I conference at Dartmouth College, situated in New Hampshire – USA.
Later in 1956, McCarthy would invent the programming language Lisp, which to this day is still used for creating Artificial Intelligence.
With the combined efforts of Allen Newell, J.C Shaw and Herbert Simon, they would create the first ever A.I.
Since the creation of the first A.I, it has continued to grow, evolve, and learn at a rapid pace.
With the recent improvements of A.I, we have seen a rise in technological applications ranging from voice, image and video generation to sophisticated cyber security threat responses tools and highly accurate medical analysis.
As A.I continues to learn and adapt from its situations and information it’s provided with, we should see better decision-making and time savings through many industries, opening new opportunities for businesses and their teams.
The influence and impact of Artificial Intelligence on SME’s
With the recent and very rapid developments of A.I, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are already seeing the benefits and changes in how day-to-day business operates.
Businesses are now able to automate or assist with much of what runs their operations, allowing them to focus on delivering a higher quality service and focus more on solutions for their customers.
With the assistance of A.I in the workplace, teams within SME’s could see productivity increase and costs reduced as many A.I are capable of assisting or even automating tasks such as Customer Relations, HR and Recruitment, Financial Forecasting, Customer Assistance with Chatbots, and Virtual Assistance or even work along-side your teams to design, develop and maintain new and existing products.
While ransomware and other malicious computing activity its ever on the rise, A.I can help keep your business safe and secure.
How we’re utilising A.I at Control IT Solutions
For managing and mitigating SME’s security threats, we make use of a powerful machine learning & artificial intelligence powered Endpoint Detection & Response security tool called SentinelOne.
It does everything a managed anti-virus solution does, providing a proactive approach to securing your information and technology from the threats of ransomware which hold your data to ransom, suspicious activity from malicious code from being executed and wreaking havoc with your business. On rare occasions where information is limited or difficult to locate, we may employ the use of GPT based A.I capable of assisting in researching and sourcing troubleshooting details.
